Bixby’s First Baptist Church offers short term mission trips to Mexico two times a year, generally during spring break and fall break. The trips are organized in partnership with Monterrey Baptist Association. Pastor’s from area churches select neighborhoods to visit door to door with the Gospel message as well as provide interpreters, lodging and meals.
Mission teams go door to door sharing the gospel while the local church follows up with each contact. In a typical week, 1,000 doors are opened which results in 1 out of every 4 praying to receive Christ!
This Spring Break we will depart on another Mission Trip to Monterrey, Mexico on March 10th and return March 17th, 2017. Total cost for each participant is $550. Participants are covered by medical/disability insurance through Gallagher Charitable International Insurance (formerly Adams & Associates) and provides medical, accidental death, medical evacuation, disability, and many other benefits which is included in your registration fee.
A valid passport and a short written personal testimony including your life before Christ, your conversion experience, and your life after Christ is required. Testimonies are translated into Spanish and copies are provided for your interpreter to read while you go door to door. Luggage is limited to one piece per participant and an inflatable mattress, bedding, and pillow is required. If you plan to use your mobile device(s), consider upgrading your cellular plan to international during your travel dates.
While there are no required inoculations for travel to Mexico, please check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for recommended immunizations. You also can contact your local health department for more information on inoculations. Remember to always consult with your personal physician before you take any inoculation.
