Monte Moran

Monte Moran has been the Pastor at Bixby’s First Baptist Church since 2005.  He’s a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Monte enjoys coffee, riding his motorcycle, reading, studying, and teaching God’s Word and spending time with his family and two dogs.

Shirley Pittenger

Shirley Pittenger has been the Ministry Assistant at Bixby’s First Baptist Church since 2009.  Shirley is married to Bob Pittenger who is the Community Groups Pastor at the Church at Battlecreek in the Tulsa Metro area.  Shirley holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Baptist College of Florida.  She enjoys teaching in the youth group, singing, reading, studying God’s Word, and spending time with her family.

Jesse Thomason

Youth Minister

Jesse Thomason has been the Student Pastor at Bixby’s First Baptist Church since 2015. He is a graduate of Bacone College with a Degree in Christian Ministry, and a student at B.H. Carroll Theological Institute. He enjoys working with computers, sports, music, cars, reading, and spending time with his wife. Jesse loves Jesus and loves seeing students grow in their faith.

Taylor Owens

Children's Director

Taylor is a graduate of Liberty University with a degree in Criminal Justice. She pent 10 years with her family as missionaries for the North American Mission Board helping church plants. She has helped in various aspects of ministry including working at the Crisis Pregnancy Center that her mother, Brenda, directed.

She has worked at Lifeway helping churches find the right materials and programs to fit their needs and is currently the office manager of her father, Steve, construction company.

“Children’s Ministry is new to me but I’m excited about the challenge. I can’t wait to work with the staff already involved and hear what ideas they have moving forward. Hopefully working together, we can help our children grow in the relationship with Jesus.”
